Our commissioners were elected to represent the people of the COUNTY. The city has elected officials to represent those people of the county that live in the city. The Ag Authority was and is a county project. Any deal that does not return the assets of the Ag Authority back to the authority so that the county can take measures to dissolve the authority properly is not acceptable. If Mr. Mathews cannot represent the people and the people's assets, he should step down. We have had ineffective leadership long enough. This is not a compromise situation and is a demonstration of weak and ineffective leadership. I would urge the commissioners to vote against any deals and only accept the complete return of assets to the authority. You all have already been informed that this was an illegal transfer. If you cannot represent the people, the people don’t need you.

G McCall -- I use to think I resented authority more than anyone I know but I believe you have me beat hands down.

It has nothing to do with resentment of any authority. It has to do with what is right and what is wrong. Are you to blind to see that? Our glorious elected leadership does not have the Ag Authority in mind. This whole picture now revolves around power, money, and property. It’s just another example of to hell with the laws, take whatever you can and screw-over whoever you can in the process. Honest leadership would not have got involved in this issue. In my opinion, not one of them deserves to be in a place of leadership. I guess it shows our youth how they should act in this day and age. Our leadership really sets the example!

Didn't the ag authority dissolved itself?

No they didn't and they can't. It will all take action from the state. What they did was wrong and they know it. The city knows it as well. If you ever wanted to see crooked politics in action, you are witnessing it first hand. They have all been informed that this was an illegal transfer. The attorneys can't get involved until ask to. Our lame county commissioners won't do it. They prefer to give the people of the countys assets away. Get smart on the issue and find out for yourself. Don't take my word for it.

You say they didn't and they can't but they did. The B'ville ag authority has been dissolved. So what has you calling these people crooked -- the way the ag authority was dissolved or who's getting the proceeds.

wdm - do some home work, then post your comments. There's a lot you apparently don't know. You seen to be like almost everyone else. In the dark.

Better that you investigate it yourself so that you don't have to rely on getting the truth second hand. When enough people find out for themself what's going on then perhaps the light will be seen that our local politicans are not on the up and up as they want you to believe. They are happy keeping everyone stupid and in the dark.

g mccall, I am just trying to figure out why you are calling these people crooked but you can deliver no real evidence. It appears to be very easy for you to call people crooked and so forth but when questioned why, you can't reply. It almost makes you appear to be crooked or at least scheming.

wdm - I've posted everyting before. YES - real evidence on the Ag Authority and on SPLOST. I can't help it if people's attention span is less than 24 hours. I won't argue with people that won't look and don't care. If you want to think I'm crooked or scheming then that is your right.

Do your own homework or give the whole damn county away. People deserve what they get when they are too lazy to investigate issues. Usually when they find out, it's too late to do anything.

I'll tell you one thing - one person can't fight lazy people's battles.

The newspaper which is suppose to be the county's legal organ reported the ag authority dissolved itself with little or no fan-fair of there being anything illegal about it or there being any conspiracy theory to rob the citizens of B'ville or Lamar County. Do you attend every county meeting that is advertised? And if no, how do you have so much inside knowledge?
