This is a sad moment for the families that have lost someone from these ill advised people. There isnt anything political, as I see it. It is just plain mean, and should not be tolerated.
Murder doesn't follow party lines. Evil is prevalent in every society, every party, every walk of life, every socio-economic culture there is. The comments on this blog prove it.
May GOD have mercy on all of them and give comfort to the families.
This is a prime example of the type of children this generation will be. They are not taught at home to show respect to their elders so they go to school and take it out on other people. The parents of todays young generation need to start teaching their children right from wrong now!

Can you or others tell me why Canada and Japan gun crimes are virtually nonexistent? Like I said earlier, we need to ban guns now and as time goes on, crime will drop dramatically. It won't be an instant fix but future generations will benefit. I'm willing to try it. I've owned guns and was taught how to shoot one at age 8. I don't own any now and I haven't needed a gun to protect myself. Most crime perpetrated against people are known to the victims.
If handguns had been banned when first proposed in 1968, violent crime would have dropped and even if the crooks had handguns, they would be 40 years old and probably not work well since they would have not been maintained.
The future generations would benefit more from their parents teaching the difference between right and wrong at home instead of trying to make the public conform to their standards of teaching. There is nothing worse than having to listen to a beligerant child who has no raising pitching a temper tantrum is a public place. If you teach them the consequences of their actions then maybe they would not think that it is okay to do the things that they try to get away with.

honestly i don't feel that this has to do with gun laws or political parties....and i agree w/ the posters who state that children today do not respect their elders...but then again, i also feel that after the Columbine situation the zero tolerance rule came about and only targeted those who were being bullied.....why not stop the bullies, which will then lead to those who are bullied to not feel threatened....we always have to go back and see why something happened.....people just don't shoot others for no reason....i'm not defending them...believe me....i'm just saying that sometimes if the cause is taken care of this might not happen....

Ive been watching the news channels and I am really sick of them trying to place the blame on the school and police. One person is to blame and that is the screwed up idiot that killed everyone. They are focusing on something that they shouldnt even worry about right now.

Here is something to think about.....I just walked into Lamar Co. Primary School, signed in (no one asked for my ID or why I was there, in fact they did not even look up from their desk) I then proceded to the classroom, then to the lunchroom. I ate lunch and then left. Went back to the office with my child, signed out and left the building. Again, no one even looked up from their desk. No questions were asked. I was not acknowledged in any way shape or form.
HOW EASY WOULD IT BE TO WALK INTO ONE OF OUR SCHOOLS AND COMMIT A CRIME?
How would you feel about guns if you were a victim and you had no protection because of gun restrictions. Banning guns would just make it easier for the criminals to take advantage because they knew that they would not be shot on site while they are committing their criminal acts. I live in the country and it makes me feel a little bit more secure knowing that I do have a gun to protect myself should a criminal attempt to break in my home while I was there and if I weren't and I found out who the criminal was They just might think twice about breaking and entering when I got through with them. Because someone once told my brother a criminal could walk in your house while you were sitting there as long as he was not threatening to harm you, you could not do anything to stop them from robbing you blind. I just think that is a bunch of buffalo pucky because if a criminal is attempting to enter my home while I was there, I would consider that as a threat to my safety and I would not hesitate to shoot them.
Gun's have saved more lives than they will ever take. I would have probably been stabbed to death three year ago if I would not have had a gun on me.lucky for me I did have a gun and all I had to do was pull it out and the piece of sh@# took his hand's off me and walked away.

Canada does not have a ban on all guns, just hand guns. I know I lived there for many years. You can own a rifle, a shot gun, etc.. you just can't own a hand gun, unless you work in law enforcement.
Maybe that is what they need to do down here, take away the ability to own a handgun.

Marine Corps General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the other day and you'll love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this!!!! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of a National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.

Those that push for gun control so hard are usually liberal. Liberals also want to go easy on criminals and not punish them so harshly. One stupid act after another. Lots of the stupidy is rubbing off on conservatives too because lots of them are losing their backbone. Many would rather suck up a little hoping to get a vote. Country is going to hell in a nose dive.
so how do you hard headed republicans explain that every country that has strict gun regulations also have a lower violent crime rate.....these are also the countries that have national health care and therefore have longer life expectantcy.....when will america wake up and join the best of the world.....
