donna johnson murder....

this was posted well down the board and i felt it deserved its own spot....

how do you feel about this murder? will there ever be an arrest? trial? conviction? peace for the ogletree family?

what about the helen ann morgan disappearance?

or the killing of mr. henry at the pawn shop downtown?

have at it but do not accuse anyone of the crime by name or association!!!!

in light of the virginia tech shootings, do you think your kids are safe at their school/college?

I feel that the Donna Johnson should have been taken care of a long time ago What over twenty years and they still haven't solved the case. That was twenty years out of her life and the criminals have had twenty years to be proud of the heinous crime that they committed and got away with. Justice will be served one way or another but the criminals should be prosecuted and given the death penalty. Come on Joe you can make sure justice for Donna is served. Keep the investigation going I back you one hundred percent. I didn't know when we were in school that you would be a prominent figure in Barnesville society. Congratulations!!!!!! Crack down on all of these criminals. They deserve it.

It would be great if he would crack down on the criminals that deserve it but he has a bad habbit of cracking on some innocent well meaning people just because they don't fall in line with his dictatorship ways. And if anyone thinks that he is enforcing the laws equally then time will prove that he isn't.

I had hoped there would be something to surface on these unsolved crimes here in Lamar County. I know it takes time and I fell a break will eventually come on each and everyone one of them. I think Optimism is the best course for all of us on these matters. Pessermism just makes it worse.

Until our DA decides to take cases to the grand jury and to trial, Donna's crime and other victims will never see justice. Our DA seems to allow everyone to plea bargain and seems to have a problem taking criminals to trial. If anyone has any data on our DA's record for going to trial and allowing criminals to plea, please share the information with others. I am sure it would prove to be very interesting to see his record. It is the hope of many that the DA will have serious opposition at election time so that justice can be served for the victims that are so deserving of justice. Joe Buice and his department can only do so much when we have a DA who will not take these crimes to trial. How in the world can our DA justify allowing Rudy Vaugn and others to plea bargain? Towanna Ferrell was certainly done a major disservice by our DA. Someone step up and run against the Lamar County DA, PLEASE!!!

I can only speak from personal experience. The sheriff has always been professional and courtious toward me and my family. I think he has the best interest of Lamar county at heart. He needs hard evidence to convict someone of this crime. Hopefully more evidence will surface so this crime can be resolved.

The DA is afraid of Vaughn & was hoping the prosecution would be taken over by the feds once the size of the theft ring was revealed.

So far no school system yet has prevented the sicko's from going on rampages. It doesn't matter if what steps they take with metal detectors, cops on premises, etc. A well motivated nut will accomplish his mission. Plus, if you have too much security, our kids will be in prison, not school!

It would be interesting to hear what the Vidocq Society discovered and which direction they sent the investigators in the Donna Johnson case. We were led to believe that the case was very close to a solution. I knew Donna and I would love to see justice done in this heinous crime.

I also went to school and graduated with Donna but that doesn't matter. She was a very nice person to know and I am glad that I got to know her. But no one deserved that heinous and criminal act. I just pray that justice will one day be served for all of these victims. I also pray that the criminals will never have another moments peace until they get what they deserve and in my opionion that would be nothing less that death.

YOu are right about Joe Buice being a very polite and courteous sheriff but he can only do so much towards getting the criminals. After he has made arrest it is up to the judicial system to make them pay. When you feel that the criminals deserve sympathy for their childhood just ask yourself did the victim get any sympathy and did the criminal consider their feelings when they were harming them? Lets quit showing so my consideration for the criminals they get what they deserve.

The public deserves an explanation of what happened to the Donna Johnson case. We heard it was about to be broken and then nothing. Was someone lying? Did someone drop the ball? What's up?

Anon 9:08
If you choose to say the sheriff is going outside the law to pursue these "innocent well meaning people", then please give us one example. You are saying he runs a dictatorship- give us an example.
When you give your examples please make a mental note to back these examples with factual evidence and not just "He toll my cusin dat dey wuz not premitted to do sumfin' dat weaze alls know dat chew can do."
If you truly have confirmed evidence of faulty leadership by him while he was in office of the Lamar County Sheriff's Dept. then someone at 11 Alive would love to talk with you.
I'll bet you don't... I'll even go out on a limb and say you just have a grudge against him.
I'll go one step further and say that you are getting pissed off right now because I just made you look like the dumb-ass you really are.
I guess what we need is a sheriff that does his job every other day or one that turns his back to certain people cause he thinks they're cool, rich, have an English accent {I like English accents} or just know him.
That would sound like dictatorship characteristics.
Rev.MJB

anon 12:33 it's obvious you don't have the mental capacity to understand these kinds of things so I wont waste my time go spend time with your relatives at the zoo or better yet go play in traffic.

I heard a rumor that they did discover the person responsible but that the DA didn't do anything with it because the evidence just wasn't strong enough to guarentee a conviction. If this is true then the sheriff did his job but the DA is not doing his. Who knows.

I just hope this case is solved before Donna's aging mother passes on. For her to have to endure not knowing who or why her daughter was murdered would have to be a nightmare added to the heartbreak of losing her child. There could not possibly have been any degree of closure for this family since it is still "unsolved" .

Anonymous said...

Exactly! Joe Buice cannot do it alone. He has to have the support of the DA to bring justice to Donna's crime. Joe and his team have worked diligently to bring justice with no support from the DA. The professionals from Philadelphia believe there is a case but the DA will not bring it before the grand jury. The sheriff's dept did not drop the ball but our DA did. And guess what folks, Rudy Vaughn has been allowed to plea, his girlfriend goes free and look at his picture with that big smile. The DA has given him lots to smile about. It is time it stops. Let's all work to remove the DA from his office and see if we cannot have justice once and for all in Lamar County.

That a way to back out of it Anon 1:20. You have a great point even though you stated absolutely nothing. If you do go to the zoo I hope my relatives throw MONKEY POO ALL ON YOU.
Respectfully yours,
THE Rev.MJB
P.S.-I think I probably just pissed you off again, maybe you will relate me to farm animals next.

how old are we? 12? because it sure seems that way...this is not a very intelligent way to debate..it is okay to have differing opinions....but if you're going to throw dirt then leave it at the playground...don't you guys realize that people outside of barnesville read these posts? do you want them to think that a bunch of idiots live here???

Anonymous said...

Well put Anon 7:55, I actually no longer live in your community, although I still have ties and relitives that do...I come here once or twice a week just for a good laugh...Please, Not everyone should take that personally. I realize there are some fine folk in your community, but the ignorant ones give themselves away pretty easily...

Anonymous said...

I think its funny. Who are we to tell someone how to express their thoughts.

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:48...i was in no way telling people how to express their thoughts....if they want to look like idiots, well then there you go...if they want people to think this community is full of adolescents, well then there you go again. i was just commenting on how we look to outsiders and after reading some of these posts (not just in this thread) i can see why some people stereotype the south...just a suggestion...

Blogging is a leisure activity done by all sorts of people, with all kinds of outlooks on events, political situations, etc. Half the fun is "throwing dirt", have you ever been on another blog? They have the same types on all these, don't think for one second that people having humor in what they are trying to say insinuates that these people are inferior to your so called intelligence. If you want to scare the hell out of someone looking at this blog then let every idea be uniform, straight to the point and with no sense of personal feeling. You two Anons have made B-ville, in just a couple of blogs, look extremely dull and lacking in personality. On top of that the Rev.MJB was sticking up for his sheriff and demanding answers to far out allegations of abuse of power. Now that seemed pretty intelligent to me, but what would I know? MONKEY POO ON U 2.
Quit taking this blog so damn serious, express yourself and have fun doing it. If you look at me as an IDIOT, well at least I have been looked at - more than you can say.
Up your nose with a rubber hose (now that's childish).
Rev. MJB's split personality-the one of rational thought.

What about Ann Morgan? Has anything devloped from that investigation over the years?

Anonymous said...

Have they ever determined that Anne Morgan is dead or did she just run away? If she did run away what would be the point in looking for her? Donna was found brutally murdered and the perpetrator or perpetrators have gone free for over twenty years. Justice for Donna will one day come and the criminals should get the same treatment that they did to her.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Ann would have run away and left her daughter. It's possible but not probable. And yes, we would all like to see the Donna Johnson murderer(s) suffer a long time for their crime.

Anonymous said...

The REV, what kind of BS is that?

Anonymous said...

Wasn't all the evidence completely contaminated in donnas case. There is no way that they could take someone to trial based on evidence. I guess, all these years , they have been waiting for somone to slip up and run their mouths about it. I dont think that is going to happen, although, I pray that it does.

Anonymous said...

Sorry...but I was in no way implying the Rev. MJB was not stating his opinion...from what I've gathered he was defending himself....and I was not talking about the actual opinions in this specific blog subject. There is a way to express ourselves that does not include juvenile name-calling and childish ramblings...(like I said in an earlier post - I'm not just talking about this thread). I think that if you have fun personally attacking another individual for their opinion, well then I guess you get everything you deserve.

As a member of the family, we pray that the people responsible for this crime will be caught. It has been a while. All sorts of leads have been followed.

What this crime did was to help take the innocence of our community. It goes to show that no one is safe anywhere. I now live out of the south and see the same thing here EVERY day but nothing lessens the pain of loosing a person like Donna.

Anonymous said...

The Buice team isn't gonna do anything about this case, all that was bs just to make him look good when he first became Sheriff. And that's sad because this ladies family has to live with this everyday of their lives. Maybe if he could keep his deputies, he would have time to investigate more.

All of these anonymous' are hard to follow. Out of all of these post I think that I saw one name. That person was a family member of Donna's, stick with the subject and quit acting like you are in middle school! Instead of having a p-ssing contest come up with a name for yourself that would help, to distinguish yourself a little more:o)

Anonymous said...

Audrey does it really matter about a name? You don't know who it is behind some of these names. Get over it or get off of here. SIMPLE

Annon. 12:15 I have sat here and tried to think of a dignfied way to respond to you. However since it apperas that you and I don not communicate with people in the same manner. I will just say this I will continue to blog along with others in a mature manner and use a name that distinguishes me from every other anon. person on here. Sorry you feel the need to be so negative and attempt to demean people. I hope you have a wondeful day:)

Oops sorry about the first blog apparently I can't multi task. Thinking about emailing someone to ask a question and then getting them mixed in this is wrong so sorry. I tried to catch it but I hit the wrong button.
