I would just like to comment on what a great Christian man Benny Tate is. I wish more people were like him in believing that everyone deserves the chance to go to Heaven. God Bless him for taking time with Mr. Vaughn and leading him to the Lord. We need more people in the world like him. And now don't all of you who thought he was in it for himself feel a little ashamed?????

No, I dont feel bad. He just refused the things b/c it would make him and his church look bad. If it was a different situation he would have taken it in a heartbeat.

Ditto Anonymous 3:20 - Everyone deserves the chance to go to heaven - everyone will encounter the Highest judge one day.....until then thanks to Judge Wilson and DA for jobs well done - within our present judicial system AND to Rock Springs - under Benny Tate's leadership - its pastors and staff who reach out to our communities(Lamar county +)and people within them - SELFLESSLY time and time again ~!

My comment to that is:

You act like it's a bad thing for a church to accept donations.
Duh-h-h-h-h. Obviously you don't have much experience with churches. True Benny Tate turned down Mr. Vaughn's offer, probably because he wasn't sure of whether or not the furniture was gotten through illegal means. To accept a donation of questionable origin is not something that a responsible pastor would do under any circumstances. To do so would not be pleasing to God.
So, yes, Pastor Benny probably would have accepted Mr. Vaughn's offer under different circumstances, and you know what? There's nothing wrong with that.
Idiot.

A true friend is somebody that's walking in when everybody else is walking out. That's what Benny Tate is, a true friend to every person in his church, no matter what. Thank God for you Benny Tate.

Hey "scoop",
What is it about Rock Springs Church that you dislike so much? It seems to me like you jump on every opportunity you can twist to shed a bad light on the church and its pastor. What is your deal? Rock Springs is a great church that God is growing because of the dedication of all the people there. Why do you have a problem with that? By, the way, "scoop" we all know who you are - hg.

yeah, wg at the paper, haha

So since I'm guessing no church is going to want to touch this stuff. How do we go about seeing if it can be given to our school system?

Benny Tate is a true man of God. Under his leadership, our church has grown to new and exciting places. It is the perfect place for people who aren't. I am proud that Pastor Benny accepted Randolph because if he had not accepted Randolph with his sin in his church he could not accept me. Sin is sin and it is not our job to judge. Benny Tate's whole ministry revolves around leading people to Christ. Thanks pastor for your committment. You are wonderful!!!

anon 11:37 a.m., calling people an idiot is really Christian. you learn that in church?

Anonymous said...

What about Hell? Is there a sign there?

Anonymous said...

I agree with you Anon 11:37. It would not be right for a church to accept things that may have been stolen. The same goes for a school.

JOY VARNER -- You said it best!! I believe God wants you more than ever when you aren't doing things right in your life. He wants you in church. I've heard of a man coming to my church years ago before I went there who came in and had been drinking alchol, no one rejected him. Now he is one of the leaders in our church and his life was changed from that day forward.

11:56,
I believe "Scoop" picks on Rock Springs because it is successful. All media is against anything successful, especially if it is the least bit conservative. Now "Scoop" is usually on the conservative side himself, but the media instinct comes out when something is successful. I mean, leading with a statement like, "as it turns out" is so pointed in its usage that he defintely is insinuating something by it.

Maybe "scoop" is angry because people are leaving the church "scoop" goes to to attend Rock Springs Church. I honestly can't blame them.

What a stupid comment. God help you.

Anonymous said...

i dont know if that persons comment is that stupid,if you think about how these people blindly follow every word this guy says,i wonder if there are any individual thoughts allowed or if everything is of a group mentality, thats scary to think there are so many people walking around who cant think for themselves, and one other thing does he teach you that if you disagree with sombodys comment that you should call it stupid

Anonymous said...

How come people can make comments and use all kinds of profanity and nobody cares but let somebody say "stupid" or "idiot" and "o-o-o-o-o,you said stupid, you said idiot, is that what they teach you at church?" pulease!

Benny Tate fake cries every other Sunday and you blindly suck it up!

Anonymous said...

Suck what up?

I have known Benny for many years and I see him almost every day. He is the most genuine, caring, compassionate, godly man that you will ever meet on earth. He is a friend to the lowly as well as those of affluence. He loves people, really. He probably has more of a heart for the disadvantaged than anybody, because that's where he comes from. Anybody that says anything against him doesn't really know him. He is a wonderful man and a wonderful pastor - the same every day of the week as he is on Sunday. I'm not going to say my name because I don't want anybody to be able to say I did this just to suck up. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I am all for relegion, But everyone talks about this guy as if he's perfect...No man walking this earth is perfect and with out sin. I don't care who they are...Benny Tate included! The point of church should be THAT you go-Not WHERE you go!

Anonymous said...

I didn't say he was perfect, he's not. But he is a very good man that doesn't deserve to be bad mouthed. And you're right, you should go to the church where you feel the Lord is leading you. The reason that people are talking about Rock Springs is because of the slanderous things that have been written. They are defending their church.

Those of you who have such a hate for religion, have you considered where the hate comes from? Why do you lash out at someone who has a kind word for you? Are you afraid that Christians might be right and you are going to be left behind. Is it because someone from a church hurt your feelings a long time ago and you won't forgive them?
Christians know where they are going. They know it is a better place and through the love of Christ they don't want anyone to suffer the ravages of hell. Sure, they aren't perfect but no one has ever been except Christ.
Christians are supposed to live their lives as examples. Some are pretty poor examples. That's no reason to condemn all Christians. No Christian will hold a gun to your head and say believe or else. God gave us all free will.
You talk about your drinking and carousing. We talk about Christ. If we can't expect you not to curse around us then you can't expect us not to talk about Christ.

What is the difference between automobiles, cars and or furnishings from a resturant? Why should the schools not use the equipment? I mean why not put it to good use and maybe some good will come from the evil.

Anonymous said...

I agree with that
