are some souls simply irredeemable...

By Walter Geiger
Monday morning quarterbacks and second guessers have run amok in the aftermath of the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech last week that killed 33 including the perpetrator Cho Seung-Hui.
I, for one, am glad Cho took the coward’s way out and ended his own life after his horrific rampage so we and the families of his victims do not have to endure his trial.
Cho defenders are everywhere. They blame his actions on depression or his addiction to violent video games. He was picked on at school, they whine.
Well, guess what? Getting beaten up in the sandbox in Pre-K doesn’t give you the right to kill folks 20 years later. Those defending Cho and rationalizing his actions may as well have been helping him reload.
Cho was what he was - a monster! No corner of Hell is hot enough for him. He became a monster of his own volition. The rest of us had nothing to do with it.
End of story.
Mourn his victims but do not mourn Cho Seung-Hui.
His case has - in some circles - raised the question of whether there are some souls among us that are simply irredeemable and beyond grace.
Were this a debate, I would offer up the Edenfield family of Brunswick (above) on behalf of the irredeemability argument.
Be forewarned. The recounting of the crimes of the Edenfields is not for the squeamish.
George David Edenfield, 32, is a convicted child molester who allegedly kidnapped six-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios from a trailer park where both the Edenfield and Barrios families lived on March 8.
Edenfield allegedly took the boy to the trailer he shared with his parents, George Edenfield 58, and Peggy Edenfield, 57. George Edenfield has a prior conviction for incest.
The two male Edenfields sodomized the boy and forced him to perform oral sex on them while Peggy Edenfield watched and masturbated, prosecutors say.
When the sickos were done with their victim, he was choked to death - his body abandoned on the side of the road in a garbage bag.
Barrios was found a week later - a long, miserable week for his loved one - and a man who says he helped the Edenfields dispose of the body pointed investigators to them.
Both the Edenfield males had prior convictions, undoubtedly went through therapy and still did not change their ways. Their alleged subsequent crime is a strong argument for locking sex offenders away for life and throwing away the key.
If Peggy Edenfield’s alleged actions are proven, there is no question she is too violently warped to continue to walk among us as well.
As there would have been for Cho, there is no shortage of people rushing to defend the Edenfields. They note Georgia’s recent strengthening of its sex offender law forced the Edenfields into the trailer park where the crime was committed.
That law did not cause this crime though it may have altered identity of the victim. The Edenfields would have struck someone, somewhere. It was just a matter of time.
No doubt some celebrity lawyer will rush in from afar and take up the defense of the unholy trinity that is the Edenfield family. Your tax dollars will no doubt pay for that defense.
From all indications the case against them is strong. They will likely be eventually convicted and, if they live long enough at your expense, executed.
Are their souls redeemable?
Is there a chance for them to share heaven with your grandmother or grandfather?
Would you want them to?
I’m not sure of my own answers to these questions.
What are yours?

as hard as it is to admit, they are redeemable, not because they deserve it, but by Grace we are all given if we ask for it by the blood of Jesus.

You dont earn your way to Heaven or Hell. You arrive in Hell even if you are a good person with these animals if you and they dont accept the son of God as your redeemer.

That's right anon 5:42. The amazing thing about the Blood of Jesus is that it "cleanses white as snow."

Walter,
I too believe that any soul is redeemable. What I don't believe is that we souls here on earth have the discernment to see into the heart of people with the capability for evil beyond comprehension and know without doubt that their redemption is sincere. Lock them up and throw away the key. There is no circumstance where these people's rights outweight the right of another potential child victim. The prisons are full of sex offenders who were given second and third chances. If any of these people are redeemed, let's leave that between them and their maker. Until then, let them rot in prison for as long as they last there.

That family is just sick !! My goodness why on earth do people do that kinda stuff? And the poor child never deserved such a thing to happen to him, why a child? That is so sad, I can't shed enough tears for this child and all the children who are done this way. I surely do hope God cleanses these people because they are plum filthy!!

I can be forgiving and overlook alot of things...however, I can not/will not EVER accept molesting, battering or victimizing a child. I dont think there is that much compassion and love in the world. Having two young kids of my own...ask yourself, what if?? If it were my children. I would gladly spend the rest of my life in prison for ridding the world of that SCUM!

They should cut off their d**** first and then put a bullet in their heads. Then God can decide what he wants to do with them. These people can not be rehabilitated. Its been proven over and over again. The laws need to be tougher. Laws should protect the kids not the perverts.

The damn inbred pieces of shit. If I were that childs parents I would be praying that they were turned loose and not convicted. I would get my own justice, far more than what our legal system wil do.

I hope that these people endure the same fate that they put that poor boy through in jail. I do mean all of it! I can't even imagine what that poor little boys last time on earth was like. That tears me up as a parent to even think of someone doing that to my child much less any other child. Prison is to good of a place for them. Like you said there isn't a hot enough place in hell for people like them either.

What is so bad, is some lizard brained lawyer, will take their case, and act as though they are innocent. These persons are sick in a way the the only cure I can see is to isolate them from the rest of the world forever.

The only rehab for this trash is a 30-06...Burn in hell!!!

I hope they get general population. God will decide their afterlife. Fellow prisoners will decide their present.

You know the big joke is the law makers have put the law on hold that would stop sex offenders from being within so many feet of a bus stop or school/daycare. We all know that at a trailer park there is one if not two bus stops. Talk about protecting our children!
What makes no sense at all, is putting the ones who sell pot behind bars for life with no possibility of parole, but allow the murders, rapists, and child molesters, out in 5-7 years. Tell me that isn't screwed up.
I hope they get the death penalty, and rot in hell!

With the way the judicial system works they won"t truly get what they deserve! If I were the parents of the little boy I really don't think I would give the judicial system a chance to try them. They would not last 1 second if I had the chance. But then again I would want to see them suffer the way the child did. Kill them slowly with all the pain you can inflict on them. Killing them would be too easy they should suffer. Hell is not a hard enough place for them.

The laws are sscrewed up because of the Liberals....they have to make sure the criminals rights arent violated.

What if we got a pool of money together and offered it for these peoples heads, maybe it would get large enough to get a jailer or two to weigh their options and get a fat check and a pat on the back from the entire US- except for the liberals. After the pictures of their mutilated bodies are put on the Internet, maybe then we will see a drop in these crimes. There is only one guaranteed way to stop repeated child molesters- insert imagination here!

4:17 PM I totally agree. Those people are sick and deserve to be in prison. I am not a fan of filling prisons up with drug dealers and others that committ white collar crimes; however I feel that serious offenders such as murderers, rapists, and child molesters should definitely serve time.

My heart goes out to family of that innocent little boy.

to rev mjb.....it is not the liberals who is to blame for this....i would odds that these people are redneck republicans.....also, the republicans have been in charge for the last 7 years, are you telling me that things are getting better....no way, just look at the news....more violence, more crime, even in Barnesville.....the republicans havent changed dilly

b/c of the libs. these 3 won't get put to death, just life and no parole.

....no soul is irredeemable as long as they have truly repented...regardless of how disgusting and cruel their actions have been.....all sins are equal in God's eyes. no one deserves God's love. He gives it because we were saved by grace. He saved us with the sacrifice of his son. everyone has a chance to change and repent. Just think about the story of Jonah. he thought the ninovites were repulsive and didn't deserve God's love....and God felt differently. They repented, he forgave. Jonah was pissed...and well, he was punished...God chooses...not us....now....as for their punishment here on earth....all of them should be castrated and I'm sure the other prisoners will have their fill of them :)

Those 3 need to suffer a real SLOW death. They just need to turn them over to the childs family. No need for a trail.

Anonymous said...

yes, but if we do this we give too much power to those in charge and then who's to say that they wouldn't corrupt the system even more and decide this was best for every case??? i'd say even more chaos would emerge....just my honest opinion....

Anonymous said...

Yeah but it wouldnt take people long to figure out that they might not want to commit a crime. People dont give a shit now because the majority of criminals just get a slap on the wrist. If we go back to stoning people to death on the city square or an "eye for an eye" punishment, people might think twice.

What do the Marines say....kill them all and let God sort them out..... Why waste money on trials for people who we know are 100% guilty? Why crowd the prisions with them and let them sit on death row for years and years? Thats just more tax dollas wasted. It is stupid liberal laws. How many times should someone get to appeal? If they use the insanity plea, thats just more tax dollars wasted on rehabilitation. If they are crazy, then put them to death. You cant rehab people like this. Its so stupid and I dont understand it. I guess all of us law abiding citizens need to start protesting and raising hell to protect our rights. Nothing is going to change till we do.

Yeah Charlie Daniels said it best in the song "Simple Man" an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. As far as I'm concerned there aint no excuse for the raping and the killing and the child abuse. And I've got a way to put an end to all this mess. Just take them rascals out in the swamp put them on their knees and tie em to a stump and let the rattlers and the bugs do the rest" I am a simple man justice should be served on these people, just like that!!!!!!!!! Amen Charlie! Go GATORS! CHOMP CHOMP
