tornado warning issued for lamar county, deputy injured...

until 8:15 p.m....weather warning system activated in barnesville then, abruptly, discontinued.

two deputies were in a patrol car that overturned on highway 41 during a severe storm. one was badly injured but is expected to survive. other had only minor injuries.

severe damage in nearby crawford county where teams of medics are going door to door looking for survivors in the sandy point, hamlin road area..at least two homes completely destroyed there, according to scanner traffic.

latest radar image shows the most recent severe weather cell now in far eastern lamar, near the monroe county line. more severe weather back in alabama is headed our way.

earlier today there were multiple weather-related fatalities in enterprise, ala.

flooding reported on old alabama road and high falls park roads at present. deputies enroute to check this reports.

portions of walker road in lamar are reported impassable.
