swat training underway here...
among dilapidated houses on railroad street scheduled for demolition.
No its not a spear. Its called a Pike Pole commanly used in the Fire Service. But as you can see the Police "S.W.A.T" World has found a nother use for it. It's called a Snatch and Pull Pole...
I would rather have those guys help me out any day.... But where did the money come from to fund this project, and does this mean our officers will get a pay raise cause they have swat training?
Did you not see the salaries listed in a past copy of the herald????? Police Officers were the very lowest paid. Doesnt make sense to me. Doesnt even come close to what teachers are making. Doesnt even come close to what the pool guy is making. Doesnt even come close to what other city workers are making and so on...
Everybody wants to complain about the Police dept. But when they need help who do they call. I feel the police should get alot more pay than teachers. The teachers say that they are teaching kids but from what I have witnessed first hand about fifth graders they are treating the class room as a daycare center where the children do what they want to as long as the teacher is not bothered.
Everybody was to complain about and blame the teachers, but who do they expect to take care of and educate the little sociopaths they are producing and then who cries and moans when the little darlings are actually required to do something?
I am glad to see the traing take place. The do gooders may not but who cares what they think. A well trained Police force is a major asset to the community. They should be paid more. They put their life on the line to do their job.
most of the time they don't do jacksh-t, thats why they don't make much. People in law inforcement usually don't like to work. All they do is harrass people and lock up people that haven't done anything wrong. JUST KIDDING!
Are officers of the law paid by the county? Maybe if our county commissioner didn't make so much money there would some left over to give to the officers of the law :)
I think the city pays the city employees, which includes the PD. They are too busy paying out the but for the beautification project on Railroad and Ice streets. Im still waiting for them to send city crews to clean up my property....LOL

Do you have a problem with the police receiving adequate pay? Perhaps you would like to be cussed, hit, spit upon and shot for $30,000 a year.
You have got to be kidding about the pay raise.......that is funny! It will never happen although they certainly deserve it.
You can have all those things happen to you and more, for not much more pay. Be a public school teacher.

The pictures looks as if the local law enforcement has been watching too many reruns of "Cops" by see all the "doo rags" on their head.
If you had to go thru what these guys went thru last week, you whould have something on your head too.
They need to take some of that training and use it on some of their own.
Dat be dem mean ol'police dat came in my crib and stole my drug's. How de hell is I suppose to make a livin when dem police got's my product.
