You could close a lot more over there and really clean the place up. For a year or two until it slowly slides down hill again. If the people aren't having to pay for the place or are paying low rents then they have no pride or responsibility and very soon it will become a slum again. It's the nature of the beast.
It is a lauderable quest. Success will take time. It will take capable management, which is yet to be found.
It will be a dump again. I give it six months. Maybe the city will continue to hose down the streets and yards to keep it clean.
What do you mean by that? Were they on city time?
It would be great if they could permanently close a lot of the streets over there
Please, don't forget Johnson and Church streets.
This is just another way to stick it to the working man and taxpayers of Lamar County. Yeah we should build them a new place to hang out and do their dirty deeds.
Why don't the city of Barnesville do a better job with road and street maintainence It seems to me that the road is in worse condition than it was before their sorry attempt to patch it. Johnstonville road could do with a little resurfacing work. What is wrong with spending some of our tax money on the resurfacing of some of these county roads. Johnstonville Rd. is a well traveled route that should be maintained better. Maybe since they are building a new subdivision it might get some attention. God I hope so.
You talk about fixing roads. Drive down Thomaston Street. That's like pot hole central. They would much rather spend our dollars on folks who won't appreciate it than fix a well traveled route like Thomaston St. It will give the drug dealers a better place to hang out is all.
I thought Thomaston Street was wher all the rich folks lived why do they need to resurface a road that will probably become a golf cart trail.
I was under the impression or so I tought that Thomaston Street was where all of the well to do people lived. why should we resurface a Street that will probably one day soon become a golf cart trail for all the rich folks kids can ride up and down the street and hinder thru traffic. When they start having to pay insurance advalorum taxes and require a tag and lisence then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. But they are allowed to hold up traffic like no one else has any place they need to go.
Like maybe to work or school.
