a beehive of activity...

jim smith wears many hats as a downtown businessman and county coroner. he has also been a beekeeper since age 14.

he spent part of his lunch hour today corralling a swarm of hundreds of thousands of bees that fled the first presbyterian church and affixed themselves to a pole in front of rose nails in downtown barnesville.

smith said he will put the bees in one of his hives. he managed to capture the bees with the help of fellow beekeeper and city animal control officer danny landers.

smith was stung only five times. swarming bees do not bite unless provoked, smith said.

I sonehow doubt that was hundreds of thousands of bees.

It looks like a couple of thousand to me.

If they would have been DAWGS he would have keep his ass out of there.

Regardless, he's a better man (or fool) than me. I wouldn't have messed with them. 5 times is 6 times too many for me.

yeah he wouldnt have had to go in there if they had been DAWGS cause we have the city dog catcher to take care of those lightweight problems

Wonder if he had Ed Legge playing the harmonica while he was doing that?

If Ed Legge was playing his Harmonica during this do you suppose he was playing "Flight of the Bumble Bee"?
