drugs, gangsta gear taken from students...
two unidentified gordon students were busted with this stash of drugs, drug paraphernalia and heavy weapons last month.
Brad White happens to be one of the best law enforcement officers I have ever known. He is fair and does his job. He is only doing his job but yet he gets downed for it. If he didn't get the weapons and drugs off our streets people would complain and when he does people complain. What is right anymore?? The last "clique" he can be compaired to is the "regulators" Brad should run for Sheriff, I'd vote for him!!!
Brad is a great person. He needs to run for sheriff. I would vote for him too. Not only is he excellent at his job, he is also a wonderful father. As far as the regulators go....dont even start on that.
Gordon is great and growing. Lets see, we have had car jackings, rapes, and now this...hmmmm...maybe they will keep lowering the standards so all the riff raff can contiue to get in.

I live across the street from Gordon with 2 kids and I find baggies in my front yard all the time and god only knows what was inside them... this is sad. The other weekend we saw about 7 cop cars over in the parking lot and saw them leave with 1 person. Why have so many police if they are only going to take 1 person to jail..
I'm sorry I left out Mark Evans in my previous post. Mark is also an excellent police officer. Way to go guys, keep up the good work. Dirtbags is taking it easy on scum like that. The schools in Lamar County are not all that great you would think that the college could have a good reputation. Between the loud radios that blast up and down my street every day and the drugs over there Gordon is the place to be..
I guess the police never know what they are walking into. If I were a cop and had backup, I would want them around. Maybe there were more people involved and they needed more than one officer on the scene....who knows.
Your right considering what happend with these kids. Maybe Gordon should give drug tests to the students without notice and have random drug searches. That might put a stop to it.
Most of the sucm at Ga Tech just live in the area. Doubt they go to school there. HS diploma is required and im sure they have to take the SAT. Gordon requires much of nothing. They need to raise the standards but thats not going to happen.
I think the deal with Gordon is that they dont like to list the crimes that go on at the college because it might hurt enrollment, so therefor they dont look for it. If there is no crime, then there is nothing to list on their stats. They are good at writing parking tickets though. Just my opinion.
Gordon does not raise or lower admissions standards. That is done by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. All colleges (2-year) and state colleges (4-year) have the same admissions standards.
You do not even have to take the SAT to get into Gordon and I know that is required at most colleges and universities in Georgia. Gordon is only trying to build their numbers for 4 year status. Be careful what you wish for Barnesville.
That is what I think also. Its all about numbers. On the other hand, the public school systems are so bad, dont guess they think anyone could pass the SAT.
It's not like this is Gordon's fault. There are criminals in all aspects of life. UGA has a lot more crime than here. A UConn prof. was once charged with setting up a meth lab. So lay off Gordon. It's the parents fault for raising the little hellions. It doesn't take a village to raise kids, but it does take responsible parents.
If there are no standards then this is what you get. The thugs! On top of the thugs that go to school there, you have all of their thug friends coming to campus to visit.
I agree with what you said about the school system in Lamar County. I just recently moved here and the thing I heard over and over about the schools was it is not teachers, or the school it is the STUDENTS and my daughter agreed with that after her first couple of days in the high school. But all of this does fall back on the parents... how you raise your kids reflects on you as a parent when your child reaches 13 and up..
SAT's are not required for admission into any two-year or four-year public school in Georgia. This was done partially to increase the SAT's scores in the state for political reasons. Don't blame Gordon for that. Gordon has zero control over those rules.
Settle down women. Brad is a married man with a beautiful wife and two adorable children.
As far as Gordon goes, I'm a graduate of Gordon's nursing program, and I received a FINE education. There are thugs on every campus in America. Not just Gordon.

I am saying that they just dont care about school and their education like they should because their parents are not involved in their lives... so rethinking that only makes me realize how true it is. What really bothers me is the fact that I live across the street from Gordon and my kids are in the yard playing with these hoodlums riding down the rode I live on with guns and drugs in their automobiles... would that bother you?

The bottom line is that the Milner PD is a speed trap and their only goal is to feed the town's revenue with traffic fines. They didn't mean to make such a big bust.
Ive been driving a long time and have never been pulled over in Milner. Milner is not the only stretch of 1941 that have officers running radar. I see the state troopers more now than anyone else......

word is the investigation is "still ongoing" because the license check was illegal. the state of georgia requires there to be at least three officers running a license check. in this case there were only two so the DA will kick this case and the thugs will walk. way to go supercops!!! maybe you should be posing for calendars instead of just posing

Usually when a law enforcement agency says the names are not being released because of an investigation it means the people in question are either juveniles OR there are more involved in the crime. Law enforcement don't release details in hope to get the rest of the people involved. Unfortunatly, in the area of Lamar CO. that I live, I rarely see any dupities patrolling. So, I guess if I need help im going to call BRAD.

Maybe I missed it but where is the photo of the perps? Had these been black kids their photos would have been pasted on the front page of the paper along with the drugs and "gansta gear".

Usually when a law enforcement agency says the names are not being released because of an investigation it means the people in question are either juveniles OR there are more involved in the crime. Law enforcement don't release details in hope to get the rest of the people involved. I would rather them get all perps involved with this drug and weapon ring than satisfy a bunch of ignorant people who want to play a race issue! Give it time. You will eventually know who the people were. Maybe they are related to you, you just never know. Let the cops do their job or go get mandated yourself and do it like you think it should be done!!
