Task force officers describe
surveillance operation that took
down ‘stop and cop’ drug market
Agents with the Narcotics Task Force described last week the January 11 covert operation that took down a ‘stop and cop’ drug market in Barnesville, its alleged operators and several alleged customers.
One of the alleged customers arrested was Mary Fletcher, 27, of 126 Robinson Road. Fletcher is the reigning teacher of the year at Lamar County Middle School.
Fletcher quietly resigned her LCMS position last week.
Agents said they had received multiple complaints about three men openly selling drugs in the vicinity of 103 Kate Court. The officers involved asked their identities not be revealed due to the nature of their work.
“There was a lot of traffic in the area. It was obvious. We set up video surveillance and watched it. Then we would stop the cars as they left. We had our agents and Barnesville police working but we could not stop them all. Business was brisk,” one agent said.
The undercover officers alleged there were three men working the operation.
Tony Akins, 34, of 1321 McCollum Road was charged with sale of marijuana. Officers repeatedly have described Akins as a career criminal.
Mandrickas Buckner, 21, of 200 Southland Drive, Apt. H, was also charged with sale of marijuana.
The third alleged operator fled the scene but was later apprehended. Antonio Goddard, 22, of 339 Atlanta Street is a convicted felon. He was charged with violating his parole and his probation was revoked.
“We have him on video as one of the sellers,” the agents reported.
The alleged customers arrested were (in chronological order based on the time of arrest):
•Chase Ellington, 22, 582 Highway 18 West, Barnesville. Ellington was charged with possession of marijuana. He had five $10 bags of pot in his possession.
•Keith O’Bryan Kennedy, 50, Fullers Trailer Park. Kennedy was charged with possession of marijuana. He had four $10 bags of marijuana in his possession.
•Russell Collis, 31, 2729 Highway 109 West, Molena. Collis was charged with possession of marijuana. He had one $10 bag of pot in his possession.
Fletcher was the final arrest. She was driving a black Jeep and alone in the vehicle.
At that point, officers moved in on Akins, Buckner and Goddard.
“It was time. They were sold out,” the officers concluded.

Has their ever been a bigger waste of time and money than "the war on drugs"? If people want to do drugs, why not allow them to. Tax it. Instiute harsh penalties for those that sell to minors and drive under the influence. Lord knows our society has bigger problems than people who smoke a little weed. By legalizing and taxing the sell of drugs, it will save the taxpayers money and it will let Andy and Barney fight real crime.
HOW many times do we have to keep going over these arrest?
I dont have a problem so much with the pot but I do have a problem with my tax dollars paying for these street bumbs to sit on their ass all day while the rest of us work our ass off to support them and all their kids and their babies mamas. As long as they can get away with it they will so I say hats off to the B'ville PD! Catch them all throw them in jail. Let my tax money go to that.

Not to make you feel stupid, but until you can understand the concept of supply and demand you just wont get it.
Check this out, Johnny says to Alice I don’t feel so good today, I think I will go over to the (stop and cop) and get a dime bag. Alice responds, no you don’t have to do that. Johnny look over there in my flowerpot and help yourself, you know it is risky to go over to the (stop and cop) place. Why don’t we order a pizza with that ten dollars and stay here? Gas is so high and you could get in an accident or shot by a stray bullet. We shouldn’t take chances since we don’t have insurance and I just read about hospitals and doctors that put liens on patient’s property. Yeah baby life is good, let those scumbags find another way to get their kicks. Meanwhile, Jack over at the pizzeria fixes Johnny and Alice a big fat pizza because he is so happy to make a profit this month.
IT’S THAT DAMN SIMPLE
ANON 6:41 I totally agree with you. How many time do we keep having to hear about these same people getting caught with pot. Let it go.
Its not that simple...I understand what you are saying but I dont think they will legalize pot any time soon.
Something of interest.
Booking And Cooking: Meth Cooks Using Hotel Rooms As Their Labs
February 21, 2007 9:19 AM
Anna Schecter Reports:
Methamphetamine "cooks" are using coffee makers and microwaves in hotel rooms of national hotel chains to heat the highly toxic chemical ingredients to make the drug.
Ramada Inn, Holiday Inn, LaQuinta, Radisson and even the upscale Biltmore hotel chains in and around Atlanta have been used for making and dealing the drug, according to law enforcement officials.
"It's a misconception that just because you're staying in a nice place, you're safe from the chemical hazards of a meth lab," said Jesse Hambrick, Narcotics Agent for the Douglas County Police Force in Georgia. "It worries me no matter where I stay when I travel."
2:32 that is propoganda.
no its not
The Meth Lab to me, is the most dangerous thing going, not only does it mess persons lives up and in some cases disfigures their appearence. Also, Meth Labs are known to blow up. I wonder how many meth lab owners purchases real estate with a house or mobile home on it just for the purpose of running a lab?
May this topic RIP.... finally!
