arthur english reported for custody on time...
and is in the lamar county jail pending a hearing on an appeal bond or transfer to the state prison system.
english was ordered to report by noon today and did so.

I wonder, 3 parallel cases, three different sentences, did the the Judges cheat on their bar exams?
It is sad to know that some people thrive on other people's misery. Shanna and her husband need our prayers and love. I hope Shanna and her husband Arthur hold their heads high. Brutz's wife and her babies also need support.
Deepest sympathy to the English family. Of the 3 parallel cases, the one that is a victimless crime, gets time in the slammer. My sympathy to the family for what appears to be a miscarriage of justice.
I know a common person resident that just spent 3 months in jail for pouring a drink on a woman that would not go about her own business. He didn't get bail. Perhaps he should have committed a felony. Then our courts would be sure to let the matter go. OOPS! I forgot. This was a commoner. He would likely been shot at sundown.
Isn't it a pitty how some people get favoritism and others get the death penalty?
Give me a break. When someone receives stolen goods he knows well what is going on. Accepting the goods and not truning in the thief is just as big a crime as going out and stealing them yourself.
The fact someone obligated to help support the legal system was involved speaks volumes of that person's morals. All this "poor baby" and "that's unfair" crap does is encourage dishonesty at all levels.
No one is "thriving" on a mother's misery. Arthur Engish is over 21 and has had enough education to know right from wrong by now. It takes support of other around a thief to give that thief motives to continue in a life of crime, just as it takes support to get him to stop.
Anyone buying or accepting stolen goods, especially when they are a legal professional, deserves a stiff penalty. They also could never be trusted in a legal professional capacity again, just as Abrue needs to not be around children or as a trusted professional ever again.
Let's roll up these big tears and belssings and keep the rest of the family out of it. Parents have at least 18 years to teach their children what moral behavior is. Maybe they do a good job, and maybe not. They are not on trial. Arthur is old enough that what he does now falls all on him.

Word on the street is the other newspaper plays favorites to. They downplay coverage of the English boys problems and exaggerate problems of the local establishment.
They have as big of problem as the main man blames on the H G.
To bad the media always seems to play with favorites. Even the media who claims to be unbiased. Kiss the right rear or bend the left ear and you get favorable press.
The HG does not look so bad to me now that I've watched. It is good we have 2 papers so between them we can get all sides of a story. It's like flipping the channel between Fox and CNN. We have a right wing and a left wing and then we have facts.
Hey Jim Dandy just for your information your COMMON friend person did commit a FELONY he got lucky and his crime was reduced to a MISDEMENOR, if you don,t believe it just ask him.You need to get your facts straight so no one gets shot at sundown,your lack of true facts is a PITTY.
Anon - Apparently you know something. (Judge, attorney, ?) Why was he treated the way he was and everyone else treated with favoritisim. What's a pitty are legal eagles that don't treat people equally. Why was he declined bail, yet others were out in less than 24 hours? He got lucky - you say. Why don't you define lucky compared to those others who got lucky. You tell me how being in a public place when the other person comes in and confronts him violates a restraining order. I may be wrong - but the way you posted your comment gives the impression that you think you are better than the person you reference. That's also a shame.

We need to learn from the Amish families who forgave the man who murdered thier children. We need to forgive Arthur, pray for his family, because Lord forbid, if we made a mistake, isn't this the way we would want to be treated. Those who like to publically lynch folks in here need to rememeber the golden rule.
