How many more people will have to get hurt or die before we get atlease a yellow or a traffic light on that intersection?

Anonymous said...

You don't need a light at that intersection. The visability is excellent in all directions. People either bus through the stop sign or they think they can beat the oncoming traffic...with tragic results.

I agree with you completely law dog! A tractor trailor pulled out in front of me when I was taking my children to school and I was only feet from him going 60 miles and hour. People are ignorant and the truck drivers just think they are bigger and to hell with anyone in a smaller vehicle! They don't care if you have small children, all they care about is getting through that stop sign!! All truckers are not inconsiderate but they are plenty who are!! I agree, no light will make a difference when there are ignorant people in this world!!

12:40 said "they dont care if you have small children in your car"just what were you doing speeding with your children in your car! you jerk, your the one who is ignorant, you should be arrested for crulity to children for putting them in that type of position.how is someone going to know if you have your rugrats in yor car anyway?

Law Dog, do you volunteer to ride in every car and truck that approaches that intersection, and make sure the driver stops? I doubt it. The answer rest, in my opinion with stricter enforcement for that area. A fines be more severe.

You can blame your sheriff for the lack of speed enforcement on 19-41 and other state routes, because he told deputies to stay off those highways and patrol back roads. He said it was the state patrols job to do that.Hwy 36 east was off limits to speed enforcement last summer until there was a traffic fatality at 36 and high falls road.I have heard him say that he was going to have something done about Milner Police depts enforcement of speeding violations on 19-41.That,s their jurisdiction and their right to make those decisions.Window tint is a potential hazzard to the safety of law officers when they walk up to a vehicle but no matter how dark the tint deputies are told not to cite violators because the sheriff thinks it,s cool.

I was wondering why the sheriffs dept posted that big article on the dispatch....

You guys crack me up. Yes, you may be in the right when someone pulls out in front of you at that intersection but it really doesn't matter, if as a result, your now on your way to the morg.

The one thing about a light at the intersection is that it becomes a controlled intersection.

Lawdog is right. You have excellent visability in both directions. Like anonymous I have had truck drivers on more than 1 occasion pull out in front on me at that intersection. One was a Yamaha truck who caused me to have to serve onto 36 bypass to keep from hitting it, and i was not speeding. When Florida Rock comes in I fear this will become even more common as they gotta get that gravel delivered.

as far as the sheriff tell his people to patrol back roads i think thats a great idea, thats where most of the criminals do their work, speeding its self does not kill, stupid drivers do.its strange its always the truck drivers that are at fault, even though studies show they are the safest drivers, its the crazy mini van drivers with their silly soccer ball stickers that scare me

Anyone know where the services are to be held?

hi

I think all law enforcement agencies, Sheriff, State Patrol, Milner Police, all need to spend some time at that intersection. This is not the lst time there has been a bad accident at that location. I am sorry a death was involved. I do feel that the activity there is a high enough profile to cause traffic enforcement to work the area and attempt to reduce the danger.

Anonymous said...

Maybe local law enforcement should be there, but the intersection is not that bad when compared to other ones the State Police have to watch around middle Georgia

If people would slow down, get off the cell phones and pay attention to what they are doing, there wouldnt be all of these unnecessary wrecks.

Anonymous said...

I agree. People can complain about the need for traffic lights and the need for law enforcement to cruise 1941 and write tickets but there is really no need. If people would learn to drive correctly and pay attention to what they are doing there wouldnt be any wrecks. You can plainly see in every direction. I dont get it....how do you pull right out in front of someone when there is that much visibility??????

Anonymous said...

A Life has been lost needlessly. So man experts tell us the visibility at the intersection is good, so nothing needs to be done. Another expert says people need to get off the cell phones and pay more attention. Another expert says we do not need a high level of patrol activity at an intersection where there have been alot of accidents.
My question to the self styled experts. What is the Answer, and what should be done at this so called near perfect intersection, that is plagued with accidents?

Have you not understood what has been written? Let me type real slow so that you will understand. We don't need a traffic light. We don't need to have a police officer at that intersection 24/7/ People need to take responsibility for their own actions. They need to stay focused and alert at all times while they are driving. The visability at that intersection is excellent under clear conditions. I am very sorry that a young lady lost her life at that intersection. She was a child of God and very precious to Him. Bottom line...she lost her life because she was not paying attention, or just decided to beat the oncoming traffic across the intersection. If you dont understand this then my advice to you is....Don't sleep on your side or your brains will roll out.

AMEN......there is a traffic light at the rose ave intersection and guess what....there are still wrecks there....why....because people arent paying attention. The are in a hurry, trying to beat the yellow light or talking on the phone, etc.

HELLO ANONYMOUS 1:12 I clearly stated I was going 60 miles per hour which is 5 miles over the posted 55 mile per hour limit. Please don't try to sell you abide completely by the EXACT speed limit. I seriously doubt it would have made any difference whether I was going 55 or 25, the fact is the truck pulled out with no regards to me or the other vehicle who almost crashed into him. As for my children, YOU my friend are ignorant to suggest someone is cruel to their children whom YOU don't know!! Ignorance speaks sometimes when it shouldn't!!

Anonymous said...

Trucks pull out in front of people there all of the time. I have had it happen to myself several times and because I was paying attention and expecting them to pull out, I slowed down and avoided a wreck. Part of driving is watching other people and to expect the unexpected. There are a lot of people in this town that shouldnt have a drivers license!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Going 60 at that intersection.....What is the speed limit there?

Anonymous said...

55 i do believe

Anonymous said...

breaking the law with your children in the car (speeding is speeding no matter if its one mile an hour over)is crulity to children no matter which way you look at it

Anonymous said...

I dont think so. I can think of a lot of other things that would be considered crulty to children, but not driving 56 in a 55.

Anonymous said...

How stupid.

Anonymous said...

anonoymous 2:34 is Jesus and has never done anything wrong....you my friend are twisted when it comes to what is cruel to a child

Anonymous said...

WHAT?

Anonymous said...

what are you trying to say, speek english

Anonymous said...

I was speaking english but I wasn't speaking moron so naturally it was not understood!! What I was saying is someone who says he has never went a mile over the speed limit or that speeding at the rate of 5 miles over the posted limit is cruelty to children is claiming to be perfect!! Does that help you out? Anyway, some people wear their education on their shirts!!

Anonymous said...

Is speek and english word? I thought it was spelled speak?

I was there the morning of that accident. Has no one thought about the driver of the vechile that hit her, for whatever reason the accident happened, he has to now live with the fact that he killed a person. Even though it was an accident, his vechile, that HE was driving, plowed into a young girl's car and took her life! Imagine yourselves in his shoes, imagine your son/daughter in her car and dead! Then come and argue about a light at that intersection, that will increase your morning drive by what a 2 minute, at max, stop for a red light. How fiendish some of you sound.

Anonymous said...

the man that hit her is a great human being and would never hurt anyone purposely! I'm sure he wish there were a light there right about now. It was not his fault and I'm sure he is sad that someone lost his life but it couldve been worse. He could be dead as well or even others.
